Rep. Pete Stark Imploring the House to Override Bush's Veto on S-CHIP

Bush's veto of S-CHIP is a godsend for Americans as it demonstrates the Republican's disdain fo rthe common man. Rep. Pete Stark has the right idea in juxtaposing the spending for S-CHIP with the spending for Iraq occupation and if the Democrats had any damn brains they would embrace this meme. But as history has shown, the rightwing is going to feign outrage to change the subject and the Dems will fold like a God damned lawn chair.
"I’m just amazed that the Republicans are worried that we can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal War in Iraq."

[snip]

"President Bush’s statements about children’s health shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than his lies about the War in Iraq. The truth is that that Bush just likes to blow things up – in Iraq, in the United States, and in Congress."
Since the fascists are already making this the outrage du jour, CNN asked in a poll if Rep. Pete Stark should apologize. As it stands at the moment, the 92% of the American public says no. Eight percent are dumb as a bag of hammers.
