Ron Paul on Terroism & the Iraq War

While browsing Youtube for political videos I came upon this old video of Ron Paul speaking about the true meaning of the war on terror, and how it has nothing to do with liberty. For those who don't know Ron Paul, he is a Republican running for president in 2008. If I were to ever vote for a Republican, it would be this guy even though his economic philosophy is too much to the right for me. What is more important is that he is less authoritarian than all of the other candidates with the exception of Mike Gravel, and my man Denis Kucinich.

U.S.-IRAQ: Fallon Derided Petraeus, Opposed the Surge

In sharp contrast to the lionisation of Gen. David Petraeus by members of the U.S. Congress during his testimony this week, Petraeus's superior, Admiral William Fallon, chief of the Central Command (CENTCOM), derided Petraeus as a sycophant during their first meeting in Baghdad last March, according to Pentagon sources familiar with reports of the meeting.

Fallon told Petraeus that he considered him to be "an ass-kissing little chickenshit" and added, "I hate people like that", the sources say. That remark reportedly came after Petraeus began the meeting by making remarks that Fallon interpreted as trying to ingratiate himself with a superior. Continue article...
