Restaurant Review: The Macaroni Grill

Yesterday my family and I celebrated Mother's Day pre-emptively at a restaurant called "The Macaroni Grill" out in Ontario. I ordered the chicken and portebello mushroom plate along with a glass of the house Chianti. The food was excellent, with a well balanced mixture of herbs, spices, and in generous proportions. Atmosphere was upscale but not too stuffy and I found the Italian lessons playing over the parental address system in the restrooms was a nice touch. Our waiter was attentive and service was exceptional.

Best of all the wine is distributed via the "honor system" where they leave the bottle at your table and then ask you how many glasses you drank. I only had one glass though, and it was only to help with digestion.

All in all, The Macaroni Grill is a good restaurant, but beware it tends to attract yuppies in mass quantities. I would have given this place an A+ except their food did give me acid reflux and this probably would have been worse had I not cut the meal with the Chianti. Annother plus is the tables are covered with paper in which you can doodle on with the crayons they provide near the entrace, hence the crayon cartoon pictured. All in all, it is a good restaurant to take the family to with a pleasant atmosphere , excellent service and moderately sane prices; which is why I give it an A.
